The best of the LPGA Tour will descend upon Wildfire Golf Club at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa this week for the inaugural playing of the RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup – a special tournament to honor the past, showcase the present and provide for the future of the LPGA and women's golf. The 54-hole event, with a field of 134 players, will help raise funds to grow the game at a grass-roots level much as Marilynn Smith, Shirley Spork, Louise Suggs, Marlene Bauer Hagge, Bettye Danoff and the eight other LPGA Founders first set out to accomplish more than 60 years ago. Players will forgo tournament earnings in support of the LPGA Foundation and its LPGA-USGA Girls Golf program which impacted more than 6,600 girls in 2010. In addition, players will compete for an additional $500,000 charitable pool to be shared by the top-10 finishers in the tournament.

The LPGA and Golf Channel today unveiled their 2011 television schedule featuring extended coverage of the Kraft Nabisco Championship and at least 45 daily telecasts of North American events, up from 34 in the same number of events in 2010. Song-Hee Kim, Morgan Pressel, Christina Kim, Paula Creamer, Laura Davies and LPGA and World Golf Halls of Fame member Juli Inkster will also compete alongside LPGA Tour rookies such as Jessica Korda, Jennifer Song and Belen Mozo.
